Who is a Marketer?
A Marketer is an individual/organization that tries to put advertisement on videos submitted to online social network sites such as YouTube, MySpace, and AdnTube.

Who is a Director?
A Director is one who submits video clips to those above mentioned sites that receive, play, and archive videos.

What is an Award?
An Award is a general term for a solicitation from a Marketer to Directors to include advertisement on videos. Each Award is defined by its Award Specs.

What is a Star Award?
A Star Award is an Award that is featured on AdnTube. All Star Awards will be denoted by a star and listed above all regular Awards on the Award List. Star Awards have the advantage of standing out on the list and attracting Directors' attention.

What are Award Specs?
Award Specs are detailed requirements and instructions for an Award. These include

  • Content of the advertisement (Text, Audio, Image)
  • Time duration of the advertisement appearing in the video
  • Frequency of the advertisement in the video
  • Minimum number of views the video has to receive
  • Expiration of the Award (by when the minimum number of views should be reached)
  • Exclusiveness - whether allow other ads appearing on the same video
  • Payment schema - fixed or variable amount
  • Special restrictions - e.g. no X-rated videos, only top 3 videos will receive payment, only consider videos submitted to youtube, etc.

What is an Intention?
An Intention is a signal that a Director sends to a Marketer about a specific Award posted by that Marketer. The purpose of an Intention is for the Marketer to have an idea of how many Directors are planning to submit videos regarding his/her Award. An Intention is required if a Director plans to submit a video for an Award. If an Intention is not submitted prior to the submission of a video, the Marketer is not obligated to pay the Director even if the video satisfied all the requirements. We only allow one Intention from each Director account for each Award to avoid any abuse of the system.

What does the Intention Approval Mode (Auto, Manual) mean when I try to submit an Award?
For Marketers, you need to either approve or disapprove Intentions submitted to your posted Awards by Directors. Since there might be cases where your Awards become extremely popular among Directors and receive significant number of Intentions, we provide you with both Intention Approval Modes so you decide which one suits your situation. Auto approval will definitely save your time, but if you request video preview from the Directors or just want to scrutinize each Intention and/or Director, you should use Manual Approval mode.

What is an Award Claim?
An Award Claim is when a Director (whose Intention has been approved by the Marketer) tries to claim the Award payment from the Marketer after all Award Specs are satisfied by a video.

I am a Director, can I make videos for more than one Award?
Yes. There is no limit on hom many Awards you can make videos for. However, you need to submit an Intention for each Award that you are interested in making video for.

Am I competing with other Directors for an Award?
Not necessarily. Unless specifically stated in an Award, typically any video (with an approved Intention) that satisfies all Award Specs for an Award is eligible to receive the Award amount. In this case there is no competition among submitted videos. However, in some cases a Marketer can state, for example, "only the top three videos that meet all Award Specs by the Award expiry date will be awarded" in the Award statement itself. In this case Directors are competing with one another since only up to three Award payment will be made.

What is an Announcement?
An announcement is made after a successful Award Claim is completed and the payment is received by the Director. A link to the Award winning video will be included in each announcement.

Can I register as both Marketer and Director?
Yes.

Does it cost to post an Award on AdnTube?
Currently, all regular Awards are complimentary. AdnTube charges $5 for each Star Award. Note: the charges of posting Awards are subject to change.

How do I pay to post an Award?
We only accept PayPal payment. Before submitting a Star Award, the Marketer will be asked to pay the correct charging amount to AdnTube's PayPal account. A Star Award will be listed only after the payment is successfully completed.

Will any Award Specs be accepted in AdnTube?
Not necessarily. AdnTube does not allow any inappropriate ad messages (Text, Audio, Image) for an Award. AdnTube will use our professional discretion to decide what messages are inappropriate. In such case, the paid amount will not be refunded (in the case of Star Award) but the Award will be removed from our web site.

I made a video for an Award and submit it to YouTube or other sites, what do I do after that?
After your Intention has been approved by a Marketer, you can submit the video made for that Intention to any video site, including AdnTube. If you submit a video to YouTube or other sites, you should go back to the Intention and submit the link of the video so that the Marketer can trace the progress of the video. You can also directly submit the video to AdnTube site through your Intention. Please note that videos with inappropriate content (such as pornography) will be removed from the site. After successful video submission, just sit back, relax, and wait for the satisfaction of the requirements and start the Award Claim process for payment. Note: You don't need to submit video link if your video is directly submitted to AdnTube through your Intention.

I am a Director and my video satisfies all the requirements for an Award, how do I get paid?
First of all you need to make sure you have an approved Intention from the Marketer. After your video satisfies all the requirements specified in the Award prior to its expiry date, you can claim the Award to receive your payment. To claim an Award, simply login to your account, click on My Approved Intentions, and click on the Make Claim icon in the Action column of the Intention you wish to claim Award for. Once the Marketer receives your Award Claim, he/she will contact you regarding ways of paying you. Please note AdnTube does not provide the service for the verification of requirements satisfaction of any video, nor do we handle payment from Marketers to Directors.

I am a Marketer and received an Award Claim from a Director, what should I do?
First you should make sure that all appropriate procedures are followed by the Director. This includes i)his/her Intention has been approved by you; and ii)all Award Specs are met by the video prior to the Award expiry date. If both above conditions are met, you should communicate with the Director to arrange the agreed payment amount. Please note that AdnTube does not involve in any payment arrangement between you and any Directors, nor do we provide the service for the verification of requirements satisfaction of any video. Once you decide an Award Claim is valid and pay the Director, you can login to your AdnTube account, click on My Award Claim link on the left panel, and fill the payment amount for the Intention. This action is just for AdnTube to know that you have already paid the Director so an announcement with regard to your successful video ad (with a link to it) will be automatically added to our website. Note that the amount you enter here does not in any way affect anything.

How can I communicate with other Marketers and/or Directors?
E-mail addresses for all Marketers and Directors in our system are public information. You can directly send emails. Or, alternatively, you can go to Forum section of the website and send messages to other Marketers and/or Directors.

My Inbox/Senbox at Forum page are almost full, what should I do?
You can send and receive messages to and from other users. However, there is a maximum number of messages you can store in your Inbox/Sentbox. You should try to delete unimportant or older messages so your message boxes are always kept below that number, which is 500 for either mail box at this time. If any of your box reaches 100% capacity, then the oldest message in the box will be automatically deleted when a new message is added to the box.

I can't seem to be able to upload my video file to AdnTube, what might be wrong?
Check your video size and file extension name. There is a size limit on any video file uploaded to our site, currently 10 MB. Also, if your file does not have valid extension name, our system will not allow it.
